Years ago, options for continuing your education in massage were few and far between. In the last few years, this has changed dramatically. Gone are the days when massage education (whether for CE units or not) were limited, required travel, or meant a ton of prior planning. Now, enhancing your craft is, in many cases, at your fingertips on the Web.
As with anything online, I suggest exercising caution and vetting reliability, but the fact that massage education is all over the place is a huge advantage no matter how you look at it. Below is a short list of ways you can access information about massage, massage techniques, massage marketing, massage equipment, and so much more.
- Online Discussion Forums
- Association Newsletters
- Massage Publications
- Social Media sites like Facebook and You Tube
- Conventions, Conferences, Seminars and more …
The information you will find in these locations isn’t always formal, but it gives you an idea as to how much is out there. If you aren’t networking: do so. If you have a massage-related question: join a discussion forum. Ask your massage therapist friends what books they are reading. Sign up for a small business marketing seminar. They are all over. Some are, admittedly, better than others. The point is, you aren’t limited in the way you once were. Information is everywhere …utilize it!
